About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.

Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused Housing Aftercare Co-ordinator to join our Housing Delivery team. In this key role, you will support the successful completion of new council housing schemes by managing the defects liability process and ensuring high-quality outcomes for residents. Acting as the link between contractors, project managers, housing services, and residents, you will help ensure defects are resolved efficiently, customer satisfaction remains high, and new homes transition smoothly into ongoing management.

About the team

You will be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking Housing Delivery team within Placemaking and Housing. The team is dedicated to delivering high-quality new homes and ensuring that residents receive an excellent standard of service from day one. Working closely with project managers, contractors, and internal stakeholders, the team values strong communication, continuous improvement, and a commitment to delivering safe, well-built homes for the community.

About you

We are seeking an organised and driven professional who can confidently manage multiple priorities and build effective relationships across a range of stakeholders. You will bring excellent written and verbal communication skills, alongside strong organisational and analytical abilities to manage complex data and identify trends. A good understanding of defects management, construction processes, and contractual requirements is essential, as well as knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and housing development practices. You will have experience using systems such as Northgate or similar asset management platforms, be highly proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and demonstrate the ability to maintain accurate records and reporting systems. A degree (or equivalent experience) is required, with a relevant construction or housing qualification desirable. Above all, you will be a problem-solver with a strong commitment to delivering quality outcomes and excellent customer service.

Working for Haringey

At Haringey Council we are committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included, and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits of a diverse workforce so welcome applications from all ethnicities and communities so that we continue to make a difference to our residents and community.  Our benefits package includes a leave entitlement of 31 days + bank holidays, potential hybrid working opportunities, health and wellbeing support, a generous local government pension scheme and a range of discount schemes across leisure and culture that provide both financial and money-saving discounts.
