About the Role

As a key member of Haringey’s Public Health team, the Health in All Policies (HiAP) Project Officer will play a vital role in advancing our mission to improve health and wellbeing across the borough—especially for communities facing the greatest inequalities. This role supports the delivery of our Corporate Plan by embedding health considerations into all areas of policy and decision-making, ensuring that the healthier choice becomes the easier choice for everyone in Haringey.

You’ll work closely with the HiAP Strategic Lead on our flagship Gambling Harms Reduction Programme  and commercial determinants of health and wider public health colleagues to supported coordinate and deliver impactful projects across areas such as healthy placemaking, economic development and licensing.,. . A strong emphasis will be placed on community engagement and co-production, helping us reach and empower residents whose voices are often underrepresented.

Key responsibilities include:
•    Leading public and partner engagement efforts using diverse and inclusive methods.
•    Supporting community outreach to identify needs and remove barriers to participation.
•    Contributing to cross-council and partnership initiatives that promote health equity.
•    Supporting health impact assessments into policy development and planning.

About You

You’re a proactive and adaptable individual with a graduate degree Health Studies or a related field, and a strong understanding of public health principles. You would have experience leading projects, you bring a sharp analytical mind, capable of interpreting complex data and developing detailed project plans that drive meaningful change. You’re confident working across organisational boundaries and thrive in collaborative environments, using your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence, negotiate, and build effective partnerships.

You’re passionate about tackling health inequalities and committed to engaging with diverse communities, including those who may face barriers to being heard. You understand the importance of co-production and community-led approaches, and you’re skilled at presenting information in accessible formats to a wide range of audiences. With a keen eye for detail, strong time management, and a willingness to learn and grow, you embody the council’s values and demonstrate a clear commitment to equality, confidentiality, and safety in everything you do.
